Dr. Mona Morstein
Dr. Mona Morstein is a naturopathic physician. She has a medical clinic Arizona Integrative Medical Solutions in Tempe, AZ: www.azimsolutions. com Dr. Morstein graduated from National College of Naturopathic Medicine in 1988, and did a Family Practice Residency at the same medical school. She was a physician in Great Falls, MT for 13 years. During that time she wrote for the local newspaper and had a cable access TV show. She then moved to Tempe, where she joined Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine. She was Chair of Nutrition, Gastroenterology professor and supervising clinician in the out patient medical clinic. Dr. Morstein is now back in full-time private practice.
Dr. Morstein has a specialty in prediabetes, diabetes, gastroenterological conditions, as well as treating many other other acute and chronic conditions. She mentored with Dr. Richard Bernstein (“Dr. Bernstein’s Diabetes Solution”), and then has devoted herself to mastering diabetes care through comprehensive integrative medicine. Dr. Morstein has lectured all over North America to physicians and students in two day seminars she created: Comprehensive Care of the Diabetic Patient,” and “Insulin Intensive Seminar.” She taught an eleven week diabetes webinar series through MedicineTalkPro.com.
Dr. Morstein, in conjunction with Dr. Haggard, decided it was the right time to form the Low Carb Diabetes Association. Having gone to many conventional care conferences on diabetes, she was frustrated that nearly all the talks were related to prescribing medications, and that the food served at many diabetic conferences consisted of pancakes, cookies, ice cream and pizza! Dr. Morstein contacted other physicians and researchers and formed an impressive board and started from scratch at forming the LCDA.
Dr. Morstein was awarded “Best Professor Award” from the students at SCNM in 2013. She was awarded “The President’s Award” at the yearly naturopathic medicine conference in 2014, for her beneficial work for the profession throughout her career. She has been interviewed on MSNBC on diabetes.
